Let’s make a difference.

ABOUT ME
My name is Henry Mitchell IV, also known as Beanee (childhood nickname). I was born and raised in Douglasville, attended Eastside Elementary, Stewart Middle School and graduated from Douglas County High School. I later received a full athletic scholarship to the University of Louisiana Monroe, where I obtained my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication. I was voted Homecoming King, my senior year of college, while meeting the love of my life. I am a husband and father to two beautiful children. I’ve been an advocate in Douglas County for over a decade, feeding the hungry, mentoring the youth and building small businesses. In addition, I have had the opportunity to speak with many citizens regarding various matters, business owners, community leaders, county employees, builders, and developers. I am willing to listen and open to the concerns of the citizens in District 2 and will provide opportunities for the citizens to offer their opinions, suggestions, and disagreements.
Cultivating District 2 is very important. I would like to create the safest environment by learning from our Douglas County Sheriff Department, Douglasville Police Department and Douglas County School Board officers regarding where we stand, what’s working and not working in Douglas County. As a community, we all would like to see our youth stay in school and reduce crime.
Just as important, I would seek ways to reduce property taxes, which not only help current homeowners, but would also lower mortgages for new homebuyers. In addition, recruiting big businesses would not only help with the tax base, but the businesses could also contribute by creating internships with our local high schools, which could potentially be a hiring stream for students that are not attending college and/or enhancing skills. I will actively seek out businesses that are willing to offer internships.
Furthermore, I would like to provide information to the citizens of District 2 on how to get involved and educate themselves on county services, educational programs and why Douglas County is a great place to live, work and play.
